Controls & Robotics Engineering Lead
Location: Austin, TX (On-site)
Mission
Design, deploy, and operate the robotic automation stack for Jumper Mobility’s autonomous fleet depots—starting with robotic charging and cleaning integration for our first pilot facility.
Responsibilities
Lead deployment of robotic arms for fast DC charging and 8-minute vehicle interior cleaning
Integrate hardware control logic with software orchestration layer
Design robust, safety-compliant PLC or ROS-based systems for field environments
Partner with OEM vendors (ABB, Fanuc, etc.) to select and configure automation hardware
Rapidly prototype in coordination with depot layout, grid infrastructure, and uptime SLAs
Required Experience
5+ years in industrial automation, robotics systems integration, or EV charging/infra
Experience deploying robotic systems (charging, warehouse, or vehicle manufacturing)
Proficiency with PLCs, ROS, or similar real-time robotics controls environments
Deep understanding of safety protocols and redundancy in physical systems
Ability to lead contractors and work cross-functionally across software, design, and BD
Bonus
Past experience at Tesla, Waymo, Rivian, Amazon Robotics, ABB, or Cruise Infra
Familiarity with high-amp EV fast charging controls, robotic arms, or AV fleet servicing
